Physical Therapy F.A.Q’s
Pilates is a form of alignment based strengthening that is beneficial for most people. Physical therapy is provided by a Doctor of Physical Therapy to address pain and movement problems and incorporates hands-on treatment, exercises and education. After an evaluation, our physical therapists will work with you to help you reduce pain and/or improve your movement abilities. At RF, your physical therapist will occasionally use Pilates during your treatment, because it offers many benefits to the rehabilitation process.
At Reforming Foundations we work for you, not your insurance company. We do not participate directly with any insurance company because of the varying and changing requirements they have, which would take our therapists’ focus away from our main goal of providing quality, attentive, and individualized care that algns with our clients’ changing needs.
- We collect payment at the time of service, and we do accept HSA (Health Savings Account) as a payment method. We provide a detailed receipt following each PT session that you can submit to your insurance company for POSSIBLE out-of-network reimbursement. This applies to all insurance except Medicare, which does not offer any out-of-network reimbursement. In order to understand whether you can expect reimbursement, contact your (non-Medicare) health insurance company and ask these questions:
-
- Do I have coverage for physical therapy from an out-of-network provider? (treatment codes- 97161/97162/97163, 97140, 97110, 97112, 97530, 97535)
- Is there a deductible for out-of-network services? Have I met my deductible for this year?
- Do I need to be pre-authorized for physical therapy sessions in order to receive reimbursement?
- What are the steps to submit an out-of-network claim, and what must be included with the claim?
If you are finding your everyday activities are limited by pain, discomfort, or difficulty moving your body, you may benefit from physical therapy. Our physical therapists also help you improve athletic performance and prevent injury.
Our physical therapists might use Pilates equipment like the reformer during physical therapy if they think it would help you reach your goals, but if you’re not interested or are uncomfortable with it, there are plenty of other ways to achieve your movement goals.
