Available Pilates Classes and Sessions

As with our studios in Berkley and Rochester, the Pilates classes at our Milford location will be limited to small groups to ensure that everyone gets the personalized attention that Reforming Foundations classes are known for. We recommend that your Pilates practice begins with the Foundations and Core stability classes. Core stability serves to strengthen the spinal support muscles, giving you a neutral spine as your foundation for performing challenging movements with your extremities. When you learn to hold your spine neutral during exercises, you develop a baseline for subsequent classes that encourage more mobility in your spine.

We offer a variety of classes on Balanced Body™ Pilates equipment, including the Pilates reformer, Pilates chair, and the Pilates Springboard™ developed by Ellie Herman. All of the Reforming Foundations classes utilize this equipment.

These machines can look daunting at first, but you will quickly become comfortable using them under the careful guidance of our skilled and intuitive teachers.

If you would prefer more personalized attention we offer one-on-one classes and duets with all of our instructors. For more information and a personal tour of the studio,  call (248) 469-4439.

Reforming Foundations Milford Pilates Studio

Reforming Foundations is the brainchild of founder Brooke Alexandra. Her quest to bring Pilates to each body began in her garage in 2014, then moved to our Reforming Foundations Berkley studio in 2017. In 2022, the RFF family got larger and found a place to belong in Rochester and Milford. The Reforming Foundations tribe is now a thriving community where skilled movement is taught, felt, learned, honed, and embodied. Brooke’s Pilates program is built on the teachings of Joseph Pilates. We’ve modernized the traditional repertoire to be firmly rooted in movement science. Our method offers strategies to promote healing, create strength, build endurance, and support controlled mobility, all while improving the mind-body connection.

At Reforming Foundations, our goal is to make Pilates attainable for every body.

About Milford, Michigan

About 20 miles east of Pontiac and west of Howell is the historical village of Milford. It encompasses a 2.5-square-mile area in southwest Oakland County, easily accessed from both I-96 and M-39.

Milford began with a sawmill erected by the Ruggles in 1832, and was incorporated as a village in 1869. The Lower and Upper Mill Ponds were created in 1836 and 1845 to provide hydropower to the area’s mills and factories. When electricity was beginning to enter a few privileged American homes in the 1890s, this hydropower infrastructure enabled Milford to be one of the first communities to have electric lights, as early as 1892.

Our expert instructors are dedicated to providing exceptional one-on-one sessions, tailoring each session to your specific needs, goals, and abilities.
